Short history of the model
Opel Astra appeared in September 1991 and replaced the Opel Kadett model. In March 1993 an Opel Astra Cabrio version was introduced. In the same year in October versions with new engines were available:
- 100 hp 1.6i 16V
In September 1994 a new 1.7L turbo diesel was introduced. Also that year the assembly of the model in Poland was started. A year later in spring, new better engines was introduced with displacement of 1.8L and 2.0L. In 1996 a 75 hp, 1.6L engine appeared. Since 1997 all Astra models had ABS systems as standard.
Opel Astra
It is a very popular car in Poland. It somewhat repeated the success of Opel Kadett from the 80’s. The main advantages that often decided and decide about the choice of Astra is its spacious interior, good quality of finish, and efficient engines. For a mid-class car it offers much luggage space. |
